Breast Procedures

Breast Implants

Breast Augmentation, (also known as Breast Implant surgery) is a surgical breast enhancement procedure that uses breast implants.

You might be considering breast augmentation surgery because you’d like to enhance the look of your natural breasts, correct asymmetry, gain fullness or attain a breast size suitable for your body shape.

You’ve likely thought about this carefully, and we’re here to provide support every step of the way.

Your Journey

We understand beautiful breasts come in all shapes and sizes not one size fits all, which is why we have a comprehensive consultation process to understand your specific goals and tailor a complete transformation package.

Our reputation thrives on patients who are thrilled with their results and we are here to deliver the transformation you’ve been searching for.

Placement, Size & Shape

Based on your anatomy, lifestyle and look you wish to achieve, your surgeon will discuss which placement method, size and shape is appropriate for you during your consultation. If you'd like more information around Breast Implants, please visit our full website here.

Implant Placement

Your breast implants will be positioned in one of two ways: under the pectoral muscle, known as sub-muscular; or over the pectoral muscle, known as sub-glandular. Both placement positions have various advantages and disadvantages.

Implant Size

Your weight, height, chest shape and size of your existing breasts all impact your final cup size and shape. In fact, you may find a smaller implant will actually result in a more appealing and shapely look.

The size of your new breasts will be affected by the diameter of the implant (determining the ‘fullness’ of your breasts) and its projection (how ‘prominent’ you’d like your breasts to appear).

Implant Shape

Based on the look you want to achieve, we offer Round and Anatomical (tear drop) breast implants.

Round implants are often perkier than the natural breast, offering a fuller, more rejuvenated feel.

Anatomical (tear drop) implants are designed to give the most natural looking results.

Implant Products

We work with only the finest quality silicone breast implants from both Mentor and Motiva, both of which are approved under the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and come with a lifetime warranty against rapture and leakage.

With a variety of different sizes and shapes, it ensures you will have the ultimate choice in the look you desire, with complete peace of mind

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is breast augmentation surgery?

Breast augmentation, also known as breast implant or breast enlargement surgery, refers to a cosmetic procedure where the breasts are enlarged or enhanced using implants placed under the breast tissue or chest muscles.

  • What if I want a breast lift or breast reduction?

A breast lift refers to a surgical procedure where excess skin and breast tissue is removed to lift the position of existing breasts. With a breast reduction, skin and breast tissue are removed to reduce the size and weight of large breasts. At Cosmetic Avenue we pride ourselves in being specialists in all breast procedures, and also offer Breast Lift and Breast Reduction procedures.

  • What are some of the reasons women choose to get breast implants?

Breast augmentation is a personal decision and there are many reasons why a woman would choose to get breast implants. Some reasons may be to enlarge small breasts, a wish to wear a particular style of clothing, a desire for a more feminine shape, or restoring the size and shape of breasts that have changed due to pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Whatever your reason, at Cosmetic Avenue our goal is to help you feel confident and assured in your body.

  • Will I still be able to breastfeed with breast implants?

This can be a concern for many patients, however the placement of breast implants does not affect milk production or the glands used for breastfeeding. You can be confident you’ll still be able to breastfeed following your procedure.

  • How do I know if breast implants will suit me?

Everyone has different desired outcomes from their breast implants and our surgeons will discuss with you all your options and expected results. To get the best results from your surgery, it’s important you are in good physical health and generally pretty happy with your body, and just have a desire to enhance the size or shape of your breasts.

  • Where will my breast implants be placed?

Your breast implants will be positioned in one of two ways: under the pectoral muscle, known as sub-muscular; or over the pectoral muscle, known as sub-glandular. Both placement positions have various advantages and disadvantages.
Based on your anatomy, lifestyle and look you wish to achieve, your surgeon will discuss which placement method is appropriate for you during your consultation.

  • What size breast implant can I have?

Choosing what size breast implant to get can be a very difficult decision. There are a lot of factors that go into deciding which implant is best for you and not every size will suit your body type.
Our cosmetic surgeons are experts in breast augmentation and your surgeon will consider your weight, height, chest shape and size of your existing breasts to help you select an implant that will give you the results you desire.

  • How safe are silicone breast implants and how long will they last?

Patient safety is our top concern and a great deal of medical research has been done on the safety of silicone breast implants, showing them to be safe and effective for use. Cosmetic Avenue have also conducted our own research and use premium, high quality silicone gel implants which are approved under the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and come with a lifetime warranty against rupture and leakage.

  • How safe is breast augmentation surgery

As with any surgery, there are always some risks involved. However, the surgeons at Cosmetic Avenue are specialists in breast augmentation, having performed this procedure hundreds of times. Your surgeon will take you through all the risks during your consultation, and answer any specific questions you may have.

  • How do I know if I get a cosmetic surgery?

Opting to get cosmetic surgery is a personal decision and one that shouldn’t be taken lightly. While choosing the right surgeon can minimise the chance of complications, the changes to your body are usually permanent.
It’s important that you don’t rush into the decision to have surgery, or opt to have surgery as a reaction to a specific situation in your life. While cosmetic surgery can help enhance your appearance, it won’t solve underlying issues that you might be going through.
Ultimately, our focus is on ensuring you feel confident about your decision, which is why we ask plenty of questions to understand your motivations for your surgery and the results you hope to achieve. If you have any questions about whether cosmetic surgery is right for you, we encourage you to chat with your Cosmetic Consultant or your surgeon prior to surgery.

Breast Lifts

Breast lift, (also called mastopexy), is one of the most popular of all cosmetic breast surgeries for good reason.

Ptosis (the medical term for breast tissue degeneration), can lead to a hollow, stretched out, elongated or flat appearance which often impacts the confidence, body satisfaction and general happiness of those affected.

Depending on the size and shape of the breasts, these changes might be minor or may be extreme. Larger breasts are more prone to degeneration of the tissue, leading to an overall downward projection of the entire breast mound.

How It Works

Breast lift comes in a variety of forms, ranging from minimally invasive to major surgery.

The goal of every breast lift is to optimize the aesthetics of the breast by improving the placement of the breast mound, firming the underlying tissue, raising the nipple position. Overall, these changes lead to a higher, more youthful looking and feeling breast.

The Outcome

The goal of a breast lift is not to change the size or even the shape of the chest area – but to simply lift them back to their normal position and tighten tissue to limit sagging.

Breast lift procedures elevate and improve the following:

    • A pendulous shape or sagging
    • Loss of firmness and skin elasticity
    • A flat elongated shape when unsupported
    • Nipple/areola that point downward or fall below the fold

  • Stretched skin or enlarged/asymmetrical areolae.

Augmentation or reduction surgery may be better options for those looking to change the size or shape of their chests.

The Procedure

Breast lift surgery involves making incisions on the surface of the breast to access the breast tissue. The two techniques commonly used are the periareolar and vertical lift techniques. These two techniques produce superior results and minimal scarring compared to traditional techniques.

The technique that is chosen for you will depend on:

    • Your needs and preferences
    • The size and shape of your chest
    • The amount of lift required

  • Your skin elasticity

Your specialist will thoroughly explain each option and advise which is most suitable for you during your consultation, to best meet your desired outcome.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How is a Breast Lift different from Breast Implants?

A breast lift focuses on improving the appearance of your existing breasts by lifting and reshaping your natural breast tissue. Implants only add additional volume but they don’t change the placement of the breast on your body. A breast lift can enhance the appearance of your figure without the need for artificial implants. This procedure can be combined with a traditional breast augmentation for more comprehensive results.

  • Am I a candidate for a Breast Lift?

If you have noticed a change in the volume or fullness of your breasts following pregnancy, or weight loss, you may be a good candidate for breast lift. The ideal candidates will be those who are in good health both physically and mentally and maintain realistic expectations about the outcome of their procedure.

  • Should I include Breast Augmentation with my Breast Lift?

Although a breast lift by itself won’t increase the existing size of your breasts, many women are very happy with the results of a breast lift alone, as their natural breast tissue will be lifted and reshaped for a younger, sexier look. For patients who want to boost their cup size as well as enjoy the improved placement of their breasts, it is common to include breast implants at the same time as a lift. Including augmentation with implants is a personal decision that you and your breast surgeon can discuss together.

  • What conditions are improved by a Breast Lift?

Ptosis or droopy breasts are the most common reason for a breast lift. This occurs when breasts appear saggy as a result of changes in the body due to age, pregnancy or the effects of gravity over time. Our surgeons can restore breasts to a higher, more youthful placement through breast lift surgery.
Loss of firmness can also be improved with breast lift surgery. Age causes changes in the fatty breast tissue, resulting in a loss of firmness. During a breast lift, your breast tissue is reshaped to improve texture as well as appearance.
Finally, if your breasts and areolae face downward rather than front and center or if your nipples and areolae seem overly large in comparison to your breast, our breast lift surgery can reduce and reposition them for an improved aesthetic.

  • What can I expect during recovery?

Most women feel sore at first, accompanied by swelling. You can expect to be in discomfort for the first few days, although this will vary depending on the type of incisions used and whether or not an augmentation was included as part of your procedure. The majority of our patients are able to return to work after a week or two.

  • What kind of results can I expect?

After your surgery, your breasts will feel firmer, look fuller, and rest higher on your chest. The nipples will be centered and proportionate to the rest of the breast. If you have had augmentation using breast implants or fat injection with your breast lift, you will notice that your breasts are dramatically increased in size as well as changed in placement.

  • Should I worry about scarring?

Your breast surgeons make every effort to ensure that your final results are as beautiful as possible. We use the newest techniques available during your breast lift surgery to limit the size and appearance of incisions following surgery, although this does depend on the level of correction needed and whether or not implants were used during your procedure. Using multiple layers of internal stitching following your procedure also helps minimize scar appearance during the healing process. Most women feel that the beautiful final results outweigh any concerns over visible scars.

  • Are my results permanent?

A breast lift is a permanent procedure. However, even though your results will be long lasting, no surgery is able to permanently stop the aging process. Your breasts will continue to be affected by aging and gravity even after your procedure, although your new figure will continue to look more youthful for longer than without surgery.

  • Does volume or cup size change after a breast lift?

The volume of the breast in not reduced significantly in a breast lift surgery procedure, so it’s more a case of re-shaping the volume you already have. If the uplift is combined with a breast augmentation, then the cup size will obviously increase in proportion to the size of implant; your surgeon will guide you in this regard.

Breast Reductions

Reduction Mammoplasty, wider known as Breast Reduction Surgery, is a procedure which revolves around reducing the size of overly large breasts.

Mostly recommended for patients who wish to achieve a more proportionate size in relation to their silhouette.

At Cosmetic Avenue, we proudly provide access to some of the most skilled, reputable and experienced surgeons in the country, offering complete transformation packages tailored towards your specific needs and goals.

Why Breast Reduction?

Breast Reduction Surgery is performed by removing excess glandular tissue, skin and breast fat to allow women with overly large breasts to overcome the restrictions associated with movement, physical pain or social discomfort, caused by excess breast tissue.

Typical candidates for Reduction surgery are women who:

  • Have excessively large breasts who would like to reduce their weight and volume.
  • Would like to reduce or reshape their nipples to be more in line with the size of their breasts.
  • Want to alleviate pain associated with heavy breasts.
  • Want to improve the proportions, allowing for an attractive silhouette
  • Resize or reposition nipples to be more in line with the overall breast shape
  • Even up breast symmetry

Connecting with a Cosmetic Avenue Breast Reduction Specialist is the best way to see if this procedure is right for you and will help achieve your goals.

Breast Reduction Techniques

The breast reduction surgery involves a number of choices when it comes to incisions:

Lollipop Incision

Also known as Le Jour and Vertical Incision method, it is the newer of the two techniques used in Breast Reduction Surgery. It involves two incisions:

  • The first incision is an incision made around the border of the areola in order to reposition the areola and nipple.
  • The second incision is made from the bottom of the areola to the breast fold.

Anchor Incision

Also known as “Inverted-T method”, the Anchor Incision Breast Reduction method means the incision is made around the areola, down the middle of the breast and across the breast fold.

In the case of this procedure, the lower and central breast tissue around the areola is preserved. Outer, inner and upper breast tissues are removed.

Repositioning the Nipple & Removing Excess Breast Tissue

Breast Reduction Surgery allows you not only to reduce the size and weight of your breasts but also to reposition the nipples to be more in line with the overall shape of your breasts.

  • Excess breast tissue and fat is removed (which allows for lifting and re-shaping of your breasts).
  • The second incision is made from the bottom of the areola to the breast fold.
  • Nipples remain attached but are repositioned while the breasts are now smaller, and areola reduced.

Pricing

Breast Reduction pricing starts at $10,687 which is inclusive of surgeons fees, hospital fees, anaesthetist fees & all post operative follow up appointments.

We understand that some things in life simply can’t wait, which is why we provide fully financed options from as little as $65 per week!
